Bangalore Employees Help Local Children Build Bright Future

When Lekshmi Thampi decided to organize a volunteer event for Bangalore Quorum employees, she was inspired by the mission of the organization Sparsha. She was honored to volunteer with her colleagues to help children discover their potential and be given opportunities for comprehensive development. In addition to providing basic necessities, such as shelter, food, and clothing, Sparsha focuses on education and laying a solid foundation to build a bright future.“I was thrilled to be part of Sparsha’s efforts to ‘teach them to fish’ and give the children the tools they need for a successful future,” said Lekshmi. “This organization gives the children the opportunity to interact with and learn from successful people who encourage them to pursue their interests and achieve their dreams.”

The team of six Quorum volunteers spent a day at Sparsha talking to the children about the benefits of education and encouraged the older children to continue their studies by enrolling in colleges. The Quorum team also gave them an overview of opportunities the children could pursue, including a corporate career, entrepreneurship and further education. The Quorum team also worked with the children to paint their newly-constructed sports area.

“Hats off to Sparsha for doing such amazing work with the children they help,” said Binni Singh. “Each child has their own story, and it was very touching to get to know them. It was also wonderful to see how supported they are through Sparsha. I truly enjoyed working with them to paint and getting to know thei aspirations and motivations.”

The volunteers were so impressed by the children of Sparsha, they are continuing their relationship with them beginning with a jacket drive. After the volunteer event, the team collected five boxes of jackets for the children. They plan to continue supporting Sparsha with more volunteer events and drives to help the children thrive.
