Quorum Experts Instruct Penn State Students about Val Nav

ByJorge Fandino

October 23, 2022

In late October, three of our industry experts took a trip up to the Oil State to visit future engineers at Penn State University. Hunter Strimple, Ryan Kerr, and Jorge Fandino spent time with students and demonstrated some of the capabilities of Val Nav.

Students were able to learn about production forecasting, type well analysis, petroleum economics, and reserves management all within Val Nav. With the program’s intuitive design and holistic approach, students were able to decline shale gas wells and generate type wells for upside development in minutes. They made it look easy!

Students also received a presentation from our experts about the challenges that upstream oil and gas faces in the front office as well as a presentation on industry best practices around planning, economics, and reserves. Our team really enjoyed being able to provide this perspective to such a bright group of young professionals and are excited to see what they go on to accomplish!

Thanks to the Dean of the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences for giving our team his seats to the white-out game!
