Quorum is committed to the health and safety of our employees, and we are dedicated to providing the best service possible to our customers.
Amid ongoing concerns related to COVID-19, I want to take a moment to update you on our preparations in the event normal business practices must change. Because Quorum is headquartered in Houston, Texas, we have had to exercise our business continuity plans for emergencies, most notably, Hurricane Harvey in 2017. As part of our response to COVID-19, we have added an internal Emergency Management Committee focused on monitoring developments and maintaining operations.
Our Approach to Preparedness
We are actively monitoring advice from the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control, and local health departments in our communities and have taken the following recommended actions:
- Providing frequent updates to our employees with resources for preventative care
- Eliminating company travel to any location that the CDC has designated as a travel risk and requesting that anyone traveling to these locations for personal reasons self-isolate upon return
- Working with our customers to align with their travel protocols
Our Ability to Work Remotely
Key to our continued operations in the event of increased community spread of COVID-19 is the ability of our employees to work remotely. Quorum employees have the technology and tools required to access Quorum and customer resources securely from anywhere. Our continuity planning also includes systems to support constant communication and validate the safety and condition of every employee in the organization. This allows us to activate succession plans and transfer critical activities to backup resources if necessary.
In cases where supporting a customer requires a Quorum employee to access a customer’s environment remotely, Quorum will work with you to ensure our current approaches (e.g., QCloud, Citrix, VPN) continue to work regardless of the physical location of the Quorum employee.
Our Business Continuity and Cloud Operations
Quorum’s Business Continuity Plans are developed to maintain or restore operations after an unexpected event or interruption. We have the ability to manage business from any of our geographical locations or remotely. Our QCloud environment is designed with redundancy and geographic cutover capabilities to minimize the risk of downtime. Also, we are in communication with our vendors that support our cloud-based SaaS products to ensure we understand their business continuity plans as well.
At Quorum’s core is the well-being of our employees and the success of our customers. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and communicate updates.
